E&T Fee Budget One-Time Requests – Due Friday, February 16th, 2024

This message is being sent to all administrative managers as well as all deans, directors, and department/curriculum chairs in the College of Arts & Sciences.

 

The Dean’s Office is soliciting new requests for Education and Technology (E&T) fee needs, within a few parameters:

  • Requests this time must be one-time in nature and must be spent either in the remainder of this fiscal year or during next fiscal year (24-25).
    • Requests for field trips or other needs that may be desired as ongoing but do not require a permanent commitment can also be submitted and may be funded on a short term basis.
  • Requests can be for regular term or summer term instruction support. Please indicate which term (or both) your request applies to.
  • All E&T requests/spending must be directly related to supporting instruction and conform to our E&T Fee Spending Guidelines.
  • If you have IT needs, please be in touch with Andy Lang (alang@unc.edu) to ensure he has weighed in on your proposal and estimate.
  • If you have Facilities needs, please be in touch with Powell Marshall (powell.marshall@unc.edu) to ensure he has weighed in on your proposal and estimate.

 

Directions:

  1. Use this link to access our E&T Budget Request system. These requests are collected in the same system used for our annual report, under the tab E&T” along the top.
  2. The year will default to “May 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024”. While requests will go beyond this period, this is the time period under which you will submit your requests.
  3. Your own department should be selected under the “Select a Unit” drop-down.
  4. Under the E&T Tab across the top, click “Add an E&T Request”
  5. Fill in the form, assigning a priority to each request within a unit (using numbers 1-9 only once each). If you enter more than 10 requests, additional ones should be listed as 10.
    1. You may add attachments if desired; however, all core details should be written in the request form.
  6. When finished with all entries, click “Save & Continue”, choose “Completed”, then Save again.

 

Please enter and submit all your requests by no later than COB on Friday, February 16th, 2024. Submissions after this time may not considered. Dean’s Office leadership will make decisions in the following couple weeks and funded requests should be communicated in March.
