Information Request for Faculty Memorial at Faculty Council

Please see the request below for information about current or retired faculty in your department who have died in the past year, so that Faculty Council may include them in the memorial at the April meeting. Please send this information directly to Emma Cromwell: ecromwell@unc.edu.

Hi All,

 

As you may know, at the April Faculty Council meeting each year, deceased faculty who have passed away within the past year are honored during a memorial that includes a moment of silence and presentation of a slideshow.  This year, the memorial will take place during the Faculty Council meeting scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2024.  To ensure that we do not leave anyone out, we are asking for your assistance in collecting information about current or retired faculty members who have passed away within the year.

 

Any information you have will be very helpful.  This may include a link to an obituary or any of the information listed below.

 

  • Name
  • Title
  • Death Date
  • UNC Appointment Dates
  • Retirement Dates (if applicable)
  • UNC Department
  • UNC School
  • Degree(s) and Year(s) Conferred (if available)
