Tenure-track faculty in the College are eligible to apply for one-semester research and study assignments (RSAs). Untenured assistant professors and untenured associate professors become eligible for an RSA after their first full year of service. Professors whose initial appointments confer tenure are eligible to apply in their second year of service for an RSA to be taken in the their third year. All other tenured faculty members who have been at the institution for at least five years and have not taken an RSA in the last five years are also eligible to apply.

Included on this page are resources to assist with managing faculty leaves. The Faculty Administration team only oversees the process for RSA leaves. Questions regarding other leaves (such as competitive research leaves, family leaves, and medical leaves) should be directed to the appropriate division.
