Phased Retirement Applications Due by Wednesday, February 12, 2025
Sent: January 6, 2025 2:08 pmFaculty who are eligible to enter the University’s Phased Retirement Program (PRP) for the 2025-2026 academic year should have already received an email directly from OHR on behalf of the Office of the Provost. Attached are the Provost’s letter on phased retirement, a PRP application, a list of FAQs from faculty, and a list of FAQs from deans and department heads to provide more information on this program.
To facilitate the Dean’s review and approval process as required, we ask any College faculty who wish to apply for the PRP to submit their completed and signed application to their Department Chair no later than Friday, February 7, 2025. Once reviewed and signed by the Chair, the Department Manager should submit the application to the Dean’s Office via RASR using the CASBO-Phased Retirement Request form.
All approved applications from the College will be submitted to the Office of Human Resources (OHR) on behalf of the faculty by the February 21, 2025 deadline. To avoid confusion and delay, we ask that you do not send applications directly to OHR.
Please visit OHR’s website here to find detailed information regarding the PRP and direct any questions about the program to Joe Williams, Senior Director of Benefits (joe_williams@unc.edu or 919-843-7874). If you have any questions about the submission process, please reach out to me directly (epebesma@unc.edu).
